Minecraft is coming to schools with the Education Edition beta launch

Following up on its announcement in January, Minecraft: Education Edition is rolling out to teachers in an open beta today. It’s pretty much identical to the standard version of Minecraft, but with a couple of extra perks to make it more useful for educators and students, like an in-game camera or the ability to keep your created character between sessions. In the future, teachers will be able to use a ‘Classroom Mode’ to control their various students, including sending chat messages or teleporting students to specific spots.
